Kids Teaching Kids Mini-Conference

Arron Wood addresses the student assembly during the Kids Teaching Kids mini-conference.

At The Hall State School, we have a strong passion for the environment and are very excited about hosting an Australia Post Kids Teaching Kids event during Kids Teaching Kids Week in the form of a mini-conference.  Australian Post Kids Teaching Kids Week is run nationally during the week of 29th August to 2nd September, 2011.

We are honored that the Founder of Kids Teaching Kids, Arron Wood, will be visiting our school next week.  Arron was winner of the 2006 United Nations Individual Award for Outstanding Service to the Environment and the 2007 Prime Minister's Environmentalist of the Year Award and author of the book, “Billabong Boy”.  Arron will be speaking to the whole school at a special parade on Thursday 1st September and will be participating in the Australia Post Kids Teaching Kids mini-conference on Friday 2nd September, 2011.

Parents are most welcome to attend the parade on Thursday morning.

The mini-conference will be a day of teaching and learning for students, with schools from Yeppoon and Rockhampton participating.  The participating students will also have the opportunity to attend workshops presented by our local environmental partners.  We would like to thank Australia Post and Kids Teaching Kids for their support and in sponsoring this event.
